It’s been another very successful 12 months for our studio! As well as continuing to create our own titles we have evolved into an Indie Game Publishing Label collaborating with some of the most talented indie games developers across the globe to help bring their original creations to new platforms. This has meant our most prolific year to date with 4 award-winning titles across multiple platforms such as PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. These include critically acclaimed titles such as FMV horror The Bunker, co-developed by Splendy Games, the comedic kart racer Coffin Dodgers, developed by Milky Tea and the sci-fi adventure puzzler Soul Axiom and VR horror demo, Don’t Knock Twice, both from our in-house studio. These titles have achieved a total of 15 accolades including nominations for a BAFTA Cymru Games Award, multiple TIGA Games Industry Awards including Most Original Game, Best Audio and Game of the Year 2016 and a Game Connection America award nomination for Best Console/PC Hardcore as well as the People’s Choice Award 2016. Furthermore as a studio we have won 9 other accolades this year including South Wales Business of the Year, a finalist in Develop Awards for Best Micro Studio, our Technical Director winning University of South Wales Graduate of the Decade & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and our PR Manager featuring in the MCV 30 Under 30. We’ve also done quite a bit of travelling again this year with our titles being featured at the major gaming events all over the world including GDC San Francisco, Rezzed London, Gamescom Cologne, EGX Birmingham and PAX Seattle. Additionally our sales have grown again and with our evolution into an Indie Publishing label 2016 has seen our most successful sales year to date. We reached our millionth download of our collective portfolio this year which is a huge achievement for our studio. Next year is set to be the company’s most ambitious and exciting ever as we look to establish ourselves on the world stage and bring more original high quality independent games to the video game market. Here’s wishing you all a Happy New Year from the Wales Interactive Team.
