2017 REVIEW OF THE YEAR
It’s been another fantastic 12 months for our studio, in fact our most successful year to date! We launched three new multi-platform titles (on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, PSVR, Oculus & Vive) including our first Nintendo Switch and boxed titles. We achieved a huge company milestone by reaching our two millionth download of our collective portfolio! We also received our 85th award nomination, making it 24 new accolades’ for 2017. This year’s recognition included two BAFTA Cymru Award nominations, a Publishing Hero nomination in the Develop Awards 2017, Best Indie Publisher nomination in the MCV Awards 2017, Wales Technology Award 2017, Wales Business Growth Award 2017, our TD Richard Pring won Wales Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2017 and our CEO, David Banner won the prestigious St David’s Award 2017 for Enterprise. Our launch titles this year included critically acclaimed FMV crime thriller Late Shift, the VR horror adventure, Don’t Knock Twice and murder mystery adventure, Knee Deep. Add to that our two physical releases, the PS4 Limited Run Boxed Edition of The Bunker and the PS4 boxed store release of Don’t Knock Twice. These titles realised our ambition of breaking into the global box market and we are pleased to say that we already have two more physical releases lined-up for next year. As well as continuing to create our own in house titles our Indie Game Publishing Label has really gone from strength to strength this year. We've been fortunate to collaborate the most talented indie games developers across the globe and look forward to working with even more to help bring their original creations to new platforms in 2018 and beyond! Next year is set to be the company’s most ambitious with 12 multi-platform titles scheduled for release as we look to build on our studio’s continued growth and success. Here’s wishing you all a Happy Christmas & New Year from the Wales Interactive Team.
