It’s been another fantastic 12 months for our studio, in fact our most successful year to date! We launched three new multi-platform titles (on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, PSVR, Oculus & Vive) including our first Nintendo Switch and boxed titles. We achieved a huge company milestone by reaching our two millionth download of our collective portfolio! We also received our 85th award nomination, making it 24 new accolades’ for 2017. This year’s recognition included two BAFTA Cymru Award nominations, a Publishing Hero nomination in the Develop Awards 2017, Best Indie Publisher nomination in the MCV Awards 2017, Wales Technology Award 2017, Wales Business Growth Award 2017, our TD Richard Pring won Wales Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2017 and our CEO, David Banner won the prestigious St David’s Award 2017 for Enterprise. Our launch titles this year included critically acclaimed FMV crime thriller Late Shift, the VR horror adventure, Don’t Knock Twice and murder mystery adventure, Knee Deep....
Wales Interactive are delighted to announce our partnership with D’Avekki Studios to bring the sinister FMV murder mystery, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker, to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2018. Our previous interactive movie titles, Late Shift and The Bunker, have been really well received and our growing community of FMV fans have expressed an appetite for us to publish more of these titles. TIMODD is another great example of a modern FMV game and we’re delighted to collaborate with D’Avekki Studios to bring this title to a wider audience.
Don't Knock Twice is available as a PSVR boxed title! The game has landed on shelves at GAME stores today all over the UK with online orders of the boxed version also available! As well as GAME you can grab yourself a copy at Argos and Amazon just in time for Halloween 🎃👻 The initial box launch will cover Europe with America rolling out in the following weeks. This is our second boxed release in 2 months and another huge achievement for our studio. It was a very proud moment for the team to receive our physical copies and a big thanks goes out to our boxed publishing partners Perp Games for working with us to make this happen.
It's a pleasure to be back on a Nintendo platform and we're incredibly proud to bring the very first first-person horror on Nintendo Switch and right on time for Halloween!

The game is based on the horror film, Don’t Knock Twice, which was also made in Wales, starring Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and directed by Caradog James (The Machine). In partnership with Red and Black Films and Ffilm Cymru Wales.

It's a proud day for our team and our good friends Splendy Games with the launch of our first ever physical release, the PS4 boxed version of The Bunker. Thanks to our boxed publishing partners Limited Run Games for making this happen and we can't even put into words the excitement in the studio when the team got hold of the first batch of promotional copies. The initial release of the collectors addition sold out in 30 seconds! We've been overwhelmed by requests for a copy but fear not more collectors editions are being produced. This is another big milestone for our company and we are pleased to say this isn't a one off and will be the first of many boxed products we'll be launching over the coming months!
We are delighted to announce that we've made it into Develop's Best of British Directory alongside some of the giants of the UK games industry including the likes of Creative Assembly, Team 17, Climax, TT Games, Ninja Theory, Jagex, Rocksteady and Codemasters! The list is aimed to shine a light on the very greatest developers from all over the UK and we've made it in in the shortlist. It's more great recognition for our studio and really flattering and a huge honour for us to be included. This underlines how far we have come as a company and all the hard work we've put in to be a successful games business is really paying off. We are also proud to say that it achieves one of company goals and we can officially say that we have put Wales on the games industry map!

It's been a bumper month for award ceremonies for us and we're delighted to have received a couple of trophies along the way. We won the Wales Technology Award 2017 for Innovation in a glitzy ceremony in the Millennium Centre Cardiff Bay. And if that wasn't enough in an equally glitzy ceremony at Wales Online Digital Awards in the hotel that Real Madrid football stayed on the night of the Champions league final we won another award. This time for Best Global Reach with commendations for Digital Ambassador and Best Digital Marketing. A big thanks to both award organisers who held great events and all the other nominees and winners on the day. We are honored and humbled to be awarded these accolades especially knowing that we were amongst the leading and most successful technology companies in Wales.
We've just found out that we've been nominated in the Develop Awards 2017 for Publishing Hero! That's the fourth year in a row that's we've been recognized in the awards which celebrate excellence in the games industry. This is another great achievement for our studio and its flattering to again be shortlisted alongside some of the giants of the games industry. And is that wasn't enough good news The Bunker also picked up two nominations for Writing and Performance...Our good friends Splendy Games the creators of The Bunker also picked up two nominations for New Studio and Micro Studio. Roll on Brighton in July...that's going to be some party!!
Late Shift is out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam (PC & Mac)! It’s been a pleasure collaborating with Swiss developers CTRL Movie to get their unique interactive movie title to its full multi-platform launch. The game has been really well received all around the world for its high production values and ground breaking interactive movie experience gameplay where choices really do matter. PlayStation Lifestyle reviewer said "...if we end up one day having an Oscar nominated film that is also a Game of the Year contender, I can safely say that Late Shift will be seen as the original piece of interactive cinema that provided the catalyst for that potential combined media future." Huge praise indeed, take a bow CTRL Movie!
Great to see both our co-founders, Dai and Rich shortlisted in The Fresh Business Thinking Shift 100, the GamingTech edition. The Shift 100 has been created to identify the gaming technology entrepreneurs who are at the forefront of the industry’s revolutionary change. Rich also made the Develop 30 under 30 list which features games industry professionals under the age of 30 who have made significant impact in games over the last year. And if that wasn't enough we also received 3 nomination for the Wales Online Digital Awards with Dai also picking up a nomination for Digital Ambassador of the Year.
A huge congratulations to our MD, Dai, for a fantastic achievement in winning a St David Award for Enterprise! We'd like to thank The Advisory Committee and everyone else for the nomination as well as the First Minister for the final result and congratulations to everyone else who was nominated on the night. Dai said, "It was overwhelming to win the award, I didn’t expect them to read out my name, when they did I had an immense feeling of pride and I’m not ashamed to say it brought a tear to my eye. The St David Award is the highest honour Welsh Government can bestow on a citizen so it’s pretty special feeling to think you were chosen for this accolade from so many inspirational people".
We are delighted to announce our Swiss/Welsh partnership with CTRLMovie to help publish their cinematic FMV crime thriller, Late Shift, to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in April.
We're extremely excited to be working with the talented Swiss film makers who are based in Altishofen, Switzerland. They developed and shot Late Shift in full HD across London, the cinematic experience blends the line between movies, games, and interactive storytelling. Late Shift is already available pre-order on PlayStation 4 and Steam and will get its full multi-platform launch in April.
